1. Open the Dashboard in SimHub (right click then EDIT)

2. Make sure Screen Hierarchy is open (F2 if not, or Windows menu top of screen)

3. Make sure Object Properties is open (F4 or Windows menu)

4. Next, open each folder in Screen Hierarchy to find the button you need. (button)

5. Click on the button on the main screen.

6. Scroll down the Object Properties window to find the "Simulated Key" property.

7. Type the new key you want into the box next to "SimulatedKey".

8. Save the dashboard.

9. Make sure to reload the dash before testing the new key assignment!

I've attached a screenshot showing the layout for the Light Panel button.
The principle is the same for all assigned keys (apart from the Ignition Button)

Hi @NigeUK the dash works great on my 10" HuaweiT5, I completed config and deleted the config screen...all ok..but I cannot change keyboard assignments...

I watched the attached tutorial on you tube and found the buttons I'd want to change but...I do not see the keyboard assignment and where to change it....can you tell me how, plse?

Every tutorial i saw talks about creating a new button not how to modify an existing one...

thanks in advance

p.s. very good gonfig tutorial :)

SE Designs Dashboard for SimHub and ATS/ETS2
v2.3

Hi All,

Update (14th February 2024) v2.3 - Corrected issue with fuel capacity values

I have built a new dashboard for use with ETS2 and also ATS.
It's a custom dashboard that I built from scratch using licenced assets, an ancient copy of Photoshop Elements and SimHub v8.
I wrote all the code myself using javascript and NCalc and some help here and there from Wotever and SJDawson of TruckSimulator Plugin.

I've included quite a few features, including but not limited to:

Metric/Imperial Switch (km/miles €/£/$ kmh/mph litres/liters/gallons)

Main Dashboard Screen with monitors and switch panels.

Zoomed in version of the Primary Monitor.

Zoomed in version of the Secondary Monitor/Information System.

Custom Engine Start/Stop button which replicates (ish) such buttons irl.

Intelligent features which change certain gauges/colours and features dependent on truck brand and configuration.

Intelligent features which indicate late running (i.e. if your eta is later than your job remaining time).

A working rest gauge.

Gears show N, R1,R2 etc...

Detailed damage information - Graphical gauges and detailed information about component wear and damage.

A custom configuration page to make set-up easier.

A detailed set-up guide.

Requirements

You will (of course) need to have SimHub installed. NB: SimHub needs to be v8 or later

TruckSimulator Plugin (link in the Read Me).

NB: Your Truck Transmission needs to be set to Real Automatic (unless you use a hardware H shifter)

Usage and Feedback

Free for your own use, but please do not re-upload anywhere.

If you like it, tell your friends!
If you don't like it, tell me!

@flipflop As I said, I've never used Global Variables in SimHub, so I can't really tell you how to use them or if it will fix the issue. Believe me, if I could have the button lit based on the actual value of the Diff Lock, then I would have implemented it.

The Differential Lock button works because it is bound to the key which turns on/off (toggles) the differential lock.

However, as I also previously mentioned, neither ATS nor ETS2 sends information about Differential Lock to SimHub. So, although the dash can turn it on or off, the dashboard never knows the current state.

My suggestion to use a Global variable is a (possible) workaround to get the button to light, but until SimHub has the data from the sim, such a workaround would only turn on the light on the button, not accurately reflect whether the Diff Lock is actually on or off.

There's a lot of misunderstanding about the capabilities of external apps to reflect or change settings in a game. Ultimately the developers of the game decide what information (telemetry) will be sent out from the game. If they don't include a particular piece of data (property) then there is nothing anyone can do to make those missing properties work accurately in simhub (or any other 3rd party app). We can always assign keyboard hotkeys to any feature of the game (if the property is available to assign to a key), but that communication is one way. The press of a button sends the key to the game, but the game doesn't send back the status of every property.
