I'm currently using a WS2812B RGB LED Matrix display for flags, gear and opponent car position - and for that last one rather than having a single panel that lights up on the left/right based on where an opponent is along side I'd like to setup 2 lights/panels (either a WS2812B panel or just a single bright LED) that I could mount above my left/right monitor such that if an opponent is alongside on the right the LED on the right would light up - if along left the left LED would light up. A friend said he saw someone do this but he can't find a link or evidence of this.

I don't see a way to do this but given SimHub can do damn near anything I'm guessing I'm just missing it - so how would one go about this? Again I don't necessarily care about an RGB matrix display, a single bright LED driven from an Arduino would be just fine.

Thoughts on how to accomplish this?
