<p>There is no separate PWM frequency setting for the DK motor shield, so I'm just using the default there. Not sure what frequency it is.</p>
<p>But I don't think that the wrong PWM frequency could kill a motor? More likely that a too high PWM frequency would overheat and kill transistors in either the motor board or the arduino. I would just use the suggested default value of 1900 Hz (which is max).</p>
<p>Have you removed the yellow power jumper on the motor board? It needs to be removed to use external power.</p>]]></content:encoded>

I am using the generic "Xbox controller rumble motors" that a lot of sellers are selling on Ebay, I think they actually are rated for 12v, even if they only run 3.7 or 5v in the controllers.</p>]]></content:encoded>

                        <content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Hi first of all thanks so much for sim hub what a great product I use it daily for bass shakers. I added rumble pedals to my logitech 920 and it worked great for a week and then the motors stopped working. I'm pretty sure I over powered them. I got replacement ones on the way. In the configuration what frequency for two motors should I be using I think I left it on the default. I had the effects of the motors at 50 percent and had road effects + speed but when I did stock car in iracing I was thinking man its really rocking haha. So on the second go around should I keep everything at 25 percent possibly? One motor died before the other one, before they both died I switched the ports on the motor shield to make sure it wasn't the ardunio/motor shield. I'll list my hardware I used too any input would be great thanks. Pretty sure my main problem was that it showed 4 motors when two where connected and I didn't know the Frequency to use in the setup. Thanks again!</p>

<p>I <span>soldered the connections so pretty sure that's not the issue these motors are cheap enough I don't mind replacing them but would be great to figure it out. I am ignorant of calibrating the hardware. Thanks again!</span></p>
