Hi! I just recently signed up. 4,444 members on this day! Wish I could beat it like that in Vegas or something. 😉

Anyways, the title is the question. Though I only plan to use two strips at the moment. I already have one RGB strip configured but I wish to add another one. I have three Arduino but for cable management's sake, I would like to use only one, if it's possible. I know I can just duplicate them, but I'm thinking of different functions like one for speed and one for RPM for example. If the answer is no, I have no problem using another Arduino. If yes, then how is the configuration?

One more thing. Is it possible to keep the lights on when there are no games running? I wish to use the RGB strips as mood lights when games are off. Thanks in advance! Cheers!

Hi. If you want multiple strips, you must have an arduino for each one.
But you can have 150 leds on one pin. so you can have connect them like a "serial mode".

For example, i have 2 strips of 8 leds. I connect them in serial. In simhub, i said that i have 16 leds. I can control 8 for something, and the others for other things (like in the attached file).

Personnaly, i had connected 1 8x8 led + 2 strips of 8 leds + 1 8x8 leds in serial. In simhub, i said that i had 144 leds in the port.

I hope this can help you.

@djgsi974 Thanks for the reply man. I figured that out from some youtube videos. I was thinking about the amount of LEDs allowed and how much control this app offers its users. It's crazy! I know I can solder them like in the image, but I haven't got those types of strips yet. I am currently using PC specific RGB strips which I cannot or don't want to dismantle just to series the LEDs. They are wired similar to RGB fans that if I connect them both or multiple, they are just duplicates of the first one, not continuous in LED count. Anyways, I'm just gonna have to use two Arduinos I guess.

I also figured out by fiddling around the app that I can make the LEDs light up when games aren't running. So much control, it's amazing! Thanks again! Cheers man!

  • You Can use the "gameisrunning"  property to know if you want to make led blinking or not.

@djgsi974 Cheers man! I got it running exactly like that. It gives me lots of random ideas now that I know how it works.

@ernie-tsai There's an easy way : you can use the group effet too for that (conditional groups effect). It depends of you need to do.

Bye.
