Hi all,

I have setup two 12v 1.4amp fans through a Cytron MD10 single channel motor shield with the arduino Uno Rev3. In the Arduino setup tool in simhub, I have selected the SHAKEIT PWM Outputs, selected one fan (both are in the same channel), and after some testing I have determined that the "PWM Output 1 max" should be 170 to get my fans to run at 100% at the speed I have set for the Effect High Force (150 km/h) under speed in the Shakeit motors tab. I cannot however get them to come on at my set minimum speed (32 km/h).

In the Output tuning section I have tried varying the minimum force, and threshold. If I set the minimum force to 25% though for example, the fans ramp up to 25% as soon as I start moving, before I reach 32km/h. I have tried keeping the threshold/minimum force at 0, and adjusted the "PWM Output 1 min" in the arduino setup tool, however this only seems to turn the fans on from about 75 km/h.

I can't seem to workout the relationship between all of these values to get my desired result, I have done some searching but haven't found anything useful to me so far, so any help would be appreciated.

The game I am trying it in is Project Cars 2, the fans I have are these:

The power supply is this:

Thanks all in advance,

Typical - as soon as I create a post, I figure out a way to do it. So if I want them to come on around 32km/h, this is roughly 20% of my max setting of 150km/h. So in the output tuning, I set threshold to 20%, and in the Effects Profile section - speed - I changed the effect low force (km/h) to as low as it would go, 1km/h. In the output tuning section, I tested incrementally the minimum force until it was clear that 30% was the minimum that the fans would sustain. So if I set it to 25%, and remained at just over 32km/h, the fans would cut in and out. At 30%, the fans would remain stable and permanently on from 32km/h upwards, increasing in speed all the way upto 150km/h.

I don't know more specifics of how/why, but it works. My guess would be something to do with the 7v minimum for the motor shield, or something to do with the capabilities of my power supply, if you have any ideas it would be good to know - thank you! πŸ™‚
