Wow man, these latest updates are just great and I am just blown away at the details I found cycling through the latest iRacing Universal Dash. Thank you and sorry to see you are taking a break as this setup is just wonderful and it will be sad to see it static.

While updating to the latest release I noticed the "ShakeIt Bass Shaker" profiles and I was like... hmmm...
So I loaded them up and was instantly blown away at the same exquisite detail in the damn Bass Shaker profiles as the Universal Dash... (argh!)

So I kicked aside my own profiles and gave yours a run (modified for my reduced speaker setup) and really liked the added tweaks you made specifically for iRacing.

I looked high and low and could not find any documentation (or forum posts) where you talked about your profile.  If you have any information about how your shakers/motors/fans work I would love to hear about it.  I was just getting ready to upgrade my own shakers/motors and would love to emulate something you have already created if it was immersive.

Do you have any photos/examples of how you wired everything up or possibly links to any good forum posts where you previously described the setup?

Thanks

@hickboy Hi, and thanks for the kind words.
I've described my setup on the SimHub Discord a while back, but I moved most of my Shakers since.
I use 2 aura (under the seat an pedals), and a dozen Dayton pucks spread all over the rig (back/sides of the seat, side of the pedals, under the shifter, on the wheel deck/base). 8 channels in total, powered by 4 trash tier car amps.
This is low end hardware, but a lot of it.

Smaller units are good for localized feedback and higher/wider frequency range. Best mounted close to the body
Bigger unit, gives stronger/lower punches.
So using multiple types of units allows richer feedback overall.

I don't have any experience with any other hardware, so I can't recommend you what to buy.
I hear there are better alternative to the pucks, like some of the Dayton exciters.
And more expensive options for "big" units will give a wider/lower frequency response, which sounds awesome.

Regarding fans and motors, I use 4 pc fans, and the fanatec v3 (weak) motors. Nothing special here.
Since shake it v3, I don't feel the need for custom effects here. I use curved speed for the fans, and ABS and TC on the pedals motors.

And with my shakers profile, the idea was to group the effects by theme, so I could quickly re balance the profile on the fly, with controls mapped to the group, depending on the car and my mood. With this overlay at first:

Now with physical buttons.
I can't go in detail over each custom effects, I think they're self explanatory for the most part, i you look close enough at least 🙂
Over time, I removed most of the clunky ones, as Wotever added effects and settings to Shake It, that made them simpler or useless.
Feel free to ask, if you have specific questions about them.

I'll leave you with this general advice to build your profile.
I'd recommend tuning/placing each effect on its own, to get a clear feel out of it and learn the settings.
Then start mixing them together starting with the punctual effect, then adding continuous effects.
Continuous effect are bandwidth hungry and will destroy the details of other effect. Placing them on dedicated units is best when possible.
Overall, try to spread the effects over frequencies, channels/units and time.
As Wotever likes to say, "With shakers, less is more".

@instinkt Hi,
You have the enable the "Controllers inputs" plugin in SimHub settings first.
Then go and find you input device properties (buttons/axis) in the "available properties" list screen.
Right click copy the name of a property.
And paste the properties name in the input display plugin settings.

The missing images and error message probably means the input overlay isn't fully install.
Try running the installer again.

I did it 3-4 times and it still looks the same

@instinkt Hi
I just tried uninstalling RSC and installing only the input display to make sure it would copy all the required files and it seems ok on my end.
If your stuck with this error please zip an share me this folder:
C:\Program Files (x86)\SimHub\Logs

zip an share me this folder

beside that I can't see these images the main problem is even when I fill the fields with available properties commands like u said it keeps striking me with an error when I just leave that page and then reseting filled fields

I tried installation in few possible configurations - full package like twice, only that input overlay another two times and it still looks the same, maybe I'm missing some files in windows, hm.

I see in the logs you're using SimHub v7.2.3.
This plugin won't run properly on this version.
Updating SimHub should solve this: https://www.simhubdash.com/download-2/

Nice, this looks better! 🙂
I recommend updating SimHub in the documentation and in the installer.
Some plugins/dash have built in update notifications (for themselves and/or SimHub), not this one.
I would probably not have worked anyway as it seemed completely stuck.

Hi @romainrob

Again thanks for your work, do you plan to improve the data shown in the standings and relative overlay? The gap with other cars differs quite a lot from the real one. It is not as accurate as iRacing itself or other paid overlays.

Hi,
I've put simracing on hold for a now, so there is now short term update plan.
I used the gap values computed by SimHub.
I also wish these would match the iRacing one better.
iRacing doesn't provide the gap values. I tried tracking the cars and computing the gaps with a plugin but failed.
I might come back to it at some point.

@romainrob

It would be fine to see how racelab (for example) do the job
