@micka35

Non pas obligé de faire tourner à 100%. Je voulais juste montrer la différence d'efficacité entre les 2 entonnoirs.

@jim54230 J'avais bien compris 😉

@micka35 Bonjour,

Votre projet avance ? Votre collègue vous les a imprimées ?

Hey Everyone,

Has anyone had the issue of the buzzing/wining noise that the fan makes. Ive seen on Boosted Medias video as well as other posts that it has to do with the frequency. However there is no option to change the frequency in the SHAKEIT PWM Outputs.

Any ideas? The buzzing is almost unbearable

Thanks

Hello everyone, just new to this forum.

I've built my RIG and put on a wind simulator following this nice guide.

Used an Arduino Uno Rev3 board in couple with a Cytron MDD10 motor board.

2 EZDIY fans all powered by a 12v 10A power supply.

Everything works fine but there's a little issue. After first 12 minutes, fans stop working and start again after 30/40 secs. Then they stop again after 6 minutes for other 30/40 secs and go on till the stop every 2/3 minutes.

Thinking of a high amount of heat, I cut a hole on the box that hosts the electronics and mounted on a 40mm fan powered by the arduino board (connected it to 5V and GND pins) that starts working as soon as the pc powers up.

Have someone of you had the same issue?

@jim54230 Bonjour, toutes mes excuses pour le retard, oui j'ai pu me procurer ces fameux cônes, cela dit j'ai maintenant un autre problème !

@BBoots I have exactly the same problem as you, on all the fans I plug in I get a little whistling sound.
Yours seems more intense because mine is still acceptable, but I don't want to use my system like that.
I'll try another power supply and see.

At first, I used the fans recommended in the main topic, but they're much too noisy for me, who just wants a continuous trickle of air.

Has anyone made a box for the arduino UNO and an MD10 module?
I'm extremely bad at 3D modeling.

Hi there! I have the same issue as BBoots with fan whine. It seems to be motor noise that only occurs below 100% power. The higher I increase the power, the lower the noise volume. To be crystal clear, I'm talking about the whining noise not the noise from air movement.

I'm using 120x38mm Delta fans with the Uno + MD10 combo. The fans are 12V and 1.3A and the PSU is 12V 5A.

Any recommendations of what I can do to reduce/prevent the whine? I see the DK Motor Shield has a setting that says "change the pwm frequency to reduce humming." Unfortunately I don't see any such option for SHAKEIT PWM Outputs

@gazzip Hi, how did you find out to use the jumper to D3? Is there a schematic you were able to look at for this? I did the same thing and you helped me finally get it to work but i want to learn why you had to jump it to d3

Hello,
I'm new to this wind simulator topic. The qurestion I would liek to raise here is about the fans. What is your recommendation for those fans. Do I really need a 200CFM fan? What is a good compromise in terms of noise and performance? Personally I would prefer a bequiet! Silent Wings Pro 4. But I'm pretty sure that one is not powerfull enough.

Many thanks for your help!

Cheers,
Rinki

@clevelandbeemer I had a similar issue with another fan. Did you try to change the PWM frequency. I increased it to 1.900. Maybe that helps for you as well. But again, I'm new in this topic so I'm just sharing my experiences.
You will find this setting in the setup section of the software.
