iRacing brake bias troubles

Hey all

Hope this is the right place to ask this question.  I am using the Nascar dash (by @mrpeters) in iRacing with the Next Gen Cup car and would like to add brake bias to the display.  The issue I have run into is that the BB number that is shown on the dash doesn't match what is shown in iRacing.  For example, in the garage it may show BB of 50 but on the dash it will show 51.4.  That difference will change depending on what track/setup is first loaded.  I have tried [BrakeBias], [DataCorePlugin.GameData.BrakeBias], and [DataCorePlugin.GameData.NewData.BrakeBias] and it all comes back with the same issue.  Is there something that can be done to fix this issue on my end or is it iRacing related?

Thank you for reading 🙂

Might be a telemetry bug with the NASCAR Next Gen car.

Can you test it with another car, even the Gen 6 Cup car, and see if the values match?

I can file a bug report with iRacing if it is just the Next Gen car.  Also, please let me know which Next Gen car (Toyota, Chevy, Ford) you are seeing this with.

Thanks for the reply!  Love your dash!  Been tinkering with it to use with my screen 🙂 🙂

So I am using the Next Gen Camaro.  I think this is a Next Gen issue.  The Gen6 always starts at "0" no matter what the BB is in the setup because it only displays how much adjustment you make during the race, not the actual percentage.  I tried the C8r and it works as it should.

After looking around some more I find that the BB displayed on the dash depends on the Master Cylinder sizes.  If the front and back MC size is the same, no matter what the size, the BB displayed is correct.  The bigger the spread between the MC sizes the bigger the difference between the shown BB and actual BB.

Let me know if you need more info.

You're correct about the different Master Cylinder sizes being the factor here.  So, the bigger the spread between the MC sizes the bigger the difference between the Brake Bias shown as the telemetry value and the "actual" Brake Bias for the NG cars.

There are other cars on the service, such as the GT3 cars, which have variable MC sizes but the telemetry value lines up as it's line pressure bias in the garage so it may just be an oversight on the NG cars.

I've put it on the radar of someone who can do something about it if there is an issue.  Hope that helps 🙂

Thanks!  Hope they can fix it so I don't have to keep editing the bias value to match the setup in the garage  😀

Are you still working on this dash?  Any luck with getting water pressure to show and voltage to be correct?  Or is iRacing not providing the proper values?
