I just upgraded my wheel from a Thrustmaster T150 to a Fanatec CSL Elite this weekend. I use Simhub with two tactile bass shakers and all was working like a charm with the T150. I only use the audio routing feature from Simhub and I race on a PC in AC and ACC exclusively.

Since I've upgraded to the Fanatec wheel I've be having wheel force feedback freakouts mid race in both programs. I have to power down the wheel base because I lose my mouse cursor on the PC so I'm not able to get the software utilities. I have to restart the computer with control/alt/delete and the arrow keys on keyboard.

If I don't boot Simhub I can race with both programs from hours without any issues. I've tried isolating the USB ports for the bass shaker amp and Wheel base, tweaking the FFB controls. But if Simhub is running it will crash the programs.

Rig:

PC (win10)

Fanatec CSL Elite

Thrustmaster T-LCM pedals

Nobsound amp driving 2 bass shakers

Has anyone else experience this type of issue with their Fanatec wheel base? Any workarounds would be welcome.

Hi this looks like a grounding issue with the amplifier. The main difference when simhub is off in this particular case is the fact that the no sound will be up and running and sending signal to the shakers. Could you try as a first step to simply unplug the amplifier and leave simhub running ? Most of the simhub code will still occur (data acquisition, computations..) except the sound output. It's a good way to check if something is occurring with the amplifier.

I turned off the amp, booted SimHub and ran quick races in both AC and ACC successfully with no crash errors. So that's getting somewhere for sure. Any advice on how to move forward with resolving the ground issue?

The USB/Bluetooth amp is Nobsound Mini Bluetooth 5.0 Power Amplifier, which is connected to two Dayton Audio pucks;

  1. left channel is a Dayton Audio TT25-8 Puck Tactile Transducer Mini Bass Shaker 8 Ohm attached to my gas pedal
  2. right channel is a Dayton Audio BST-2 Tactile Bass Shaker 25 Watt attached to the back of my chair

The Fanatec and Nobsound amp are both plugged into the same power strip and they are both plugged into the same USB mini hub. Wondering if I should isolate those signal chains?

Got everything to work again. The solution was to isolate the USB connections and ports, Tactile shaker amp in one port and the wheel and pedal in another.

PHew!

Back to shaken and racing!

How did you isolate the usb?

I just used separate USB ports for the pedals and wheel base and Mini Amp. Originally I was running everything into a single USB port and I think I was overloading it and getting a lot of interference.
