I am new member and I need help

Hello. I want to make a custom dashboard for a project electric powered car using a nextion screen. Has anyone done anything like this before to tell me how easy is it? I have never used a nextion screen before or arduino but I'd like to learn starting from 0. I have gotten acquainted with the editor and watched many tutorials but I have some problems uploading the templates I want to the screen. Do I have to be using an arduino in order to upload the templates?
