So I had a weird problem show up this morning. I jumped in my rig just in time for a race, but found I had no FFB from my SC2 Pro. I tried all sorts of panic reboots/resets etc to no avail. Too late, I discovered that if I configure SimHub to launch automatically with Windows, my FFB drops out. If I launch it manually after everything else is up and running, (i.e. SC2, Racelab & CrewChief), it all works just fine.

Yesterday, everything was fine when set to launch SimHub with Windows, then the last thing I did before shutting down my rig was update to the latest SimHub build. I think I was on something like 8.2.1 before that. That might be wrong, but probably close.

Is there a known issue that explains this by any chance? I'm absolutely fine with just manually launching SimHub if that's what it takes. I just don't want to get surprised again, thinking I had fixed the problem 🙂

Thanks!

Hi !

I've heard this issue twice now, I'm investigating but I couldn't see it with my eyes yet (I use a sc2 pro too)

My best bet is that the new control mapper plugin which includes SC2 wheel detection is somehow interfering. can you try to disable entirely the plugin in the settings if it's enabled?

Will do. I'll get back to you.

Back from testing, and I think you're on to something.

I checked my plugin status and "Controllers Input" was enabled so I ran a few tests:

With Startup launch and Controllers Input both enabled, I get no FFB (with an important exception I'll get into in a moment).

With no Startup launch but with Controllers Input still enabled, I do get FFB. (Note: I start up the SC2 and True Drive software before manually launching SimHub.)

With Startup launch enabled but with Controllers Input disabled, I also get FFB.

I also noticed that if I leave the SC2 powered up and then restart, the FFB will work even with Startup launch and Controllers Input enabled in SimHub. It seems like once the SC2 device connection has been made before SimHub fires up, then FFB works.

I did have one odd occurrence when trying this last config however. The first time I tried to restart with the SC2 powered up and SimHub auto-launch enabled, iRacing would not launch. I have no idea why that happened and it is behavior I have not seen outside of this test. A further system restart, with the exact same state did result in iRacing launching successfully however, so that may just be an unrelated glitch.

Let me know if you need anything else from my system to help reproducing this. Fortunately there is an easy workaround for now.

p.s. The "Control mapper" plugin was disabled on my system and remained disabled for all the above tests. If you need me to retest with that plugin enabled just let me know.

Just wanted to report that I am having a similar issue with my Moza R9 Wheel, it was working fine before, updated simhub and rebooted, I don't have simhub auto loading, but as soon as I did open it, I lost FFB, and the Moza Pithub app couldn't find the wheel and hub, I tried turning off the ControllerInput Plugin and it worked, and gave me FFB back
