  • @nigeuk Yes, the truck is default ETS2.  The only mod I have for it is a realistic dash info panel.  I am following the starting routine exactly as you described.  The truck drives and brakes normally once running.
  • I will try removing the dash info mod tomorrow and start again.
  • Also, much respect for your diligence so far.  I won't bother you again tonight.  Many thanks.

@robinhood7471 No problem. No need to remove the truck mod. I suspect I have the same one!
I will definitely run some tests over the next few days.

@robinhood7471 Hi there!
I just managed to do a quick test on a clean profile and in the New Actros.

There did seem to be some glitches initially, but I couldn't determine what the issue was. After a couple of cycles though, the button worked as expected and the engine started.

One thing to check from your end - the "brake" in question is the footbrake, not the engine brake. It doesn't matter which key this is bound to, but it must activate the footbrake (labelled brake/reverse in ETS2 keyboard assignments). Maybe check your key assignments and also your pedal assignments too.

I will be doing more extensive testing next week and will let you know if I get more information.

@nigeuk Hi, I have just found the culprits.  I disconnected my flight yoke and quadrants, restarted Simhub and ETS2, and now the dash panel works perfectly 😎

Thanks for your assistance, there's a £10 donation on its way tonight.  Keep up the great work.

@robinhood7471 Excellent! Well done for getting to the bottom of the issue.

Your donation is very much appreciated. Thank You.

Just for info, I still intend to review the dash over the next few weeks. I need to check that other features have not been broken and I'm going to create a 16:9 version too.

Love your set-up btw!

  • @nigeuk Thanks, it's still very much a WIP.  Bought it for my retirement present to myself.  I'd be interested in the 16.9 version when it's ready.  Donation sent.

Minor UPDATE

14th February 2023 - v2.3 - Changed fuel capacity calculations for ATS and ETS2 - SCS must have changed something with regard to fuel units which caused fuel capacity values to be incorrect. Corrected now.

FYI: I am still planning a 16:9 version, but it's a lot of work, so not soon!

Hello, I greatly appreciate your work as I was looking for something like this. The thing is that I am looking for a visual indicator (just like your retarder panel) but for the engine brake wich also has an increase / decrease option and i cannot seem to find the game asset files for it. Can you lend a hand ? Many thanks in advance

@maggiolino78 Hi there! Thanks for your kind words.

I don’t recall seeing any engine brake (motorbrake) telemetry in Simhub or Truck SimulatorPlugin other than the on/off status that I use in my dash. I know that there are keybinding options for increasing/decreasing the engine brake, but this doesn’t necessarily mean that the telemetry is available. Trailer Brake is another example where it exists in the sim, but not in telemetry.

However, I will have a look late today and see if I can find anything.

@maggiolino78 Hi again.

I’ve looked again at the telemetry document from scs and there is no mention of engine/motor brake increments. The only data we have therefore for the engine brake is whether it’s on or off.
