Unable to create screen buttons

Hello,

I've been looking to get some buttons on my tactile Vocore screen to work for more than a year, but never been able to. I'm resourcing to this forum as a desperate measure...

I just want some buttons on screen to be able to control Display Brightness and RGB led brightness (like in the picture attached), but never worked for me.

I insert the button component, and on trigger action I set one to SerialDashPlugin.DecrementDisplayIntensity and the other to SerialDashPlugin.IncrementDisplayIntensity.
Same with the RGB leds (rpm shift lights) with SerialDashPlugin.DecrementRGBIntensity and SerialDashPlugin.IncrementRGBIntensity.

Now, knowing that the action is supposed to do what I want, what about the other parameters under the action settings of the button component? SimulatedKey and TriggerSimHubInputName? Do I need to set up those? I have no idea what TriggerSimHubInputName does as the available properties are the same and I tried simulating some keys but the brightness actions are still not being applied.

Anyone with an idea about the matter? I literally have run out of ideas to try, and cannot find anything about the matter searching anywhere.

Thank you very much in advance.

Hi,
No need for SimulatedKey and TriggerSimHubInputName in this case.
Mapping the "TriggerAction" to the button is enough.

Two things I suggest you check:
- In the dash editor make sure the button components are not locked, or you won't be able to click them.
- In the Dash Studio / VOCORE screen, enable the touch screen in "Advanced touch mode"

Hopefully this helps.

@romainrob Thank you very much for the suggestions.

The buttons are not locked in the layer tree, and the Vocore is set to enable touchscreen. I am currently testing, and clicking anywhere on the screen just cycles to the next dashboard screen. Not sure why that's happening as I don't have any bind for the cycle screen feature.

If I just leave the button screen shown in the image abovr as the only Idle screen, pressing a button does nothing. I believe the button should change icon for someone that looks like pressed right? That does not happen on mine. I am currently testing with the MediaPlayPause feature that I know for sure that works.

Any other suggestion is very much welcomed! Thanks!

EDIT:

Ignore my post above, the issue is now solved

The problem was that I had to enable advanced touch mode under enable touchscreen as shown in the image below. The buttons work as expected now. Thank you!
